Who Is a Good Candidate?

Cases involving heavy grinding, unusual bite forces, or complex cosmetic work across the front teeth may still be better served by a laboratory-fabricated crown, and our doctors will say so rather than push a technology that is not right for your situation.
If a tooth has an active infection or inadequate remaining structure, we address that first — sometimes with a root canal or a buildup — before the crown is placed.
What Your Visit Looks Like
Plan on roughly two hours at our Memorial Drive office. Much of that time is comfortable waiting while the crown is milled, and patients are welcome to bring a book or use our Wi-Fi. There is no numbness wearing off and returning weeks later, and no second round of time off work.
Afterward the tooth may be slightly sensitive to cold for a few days. Normal brushing and flossing resume immediately, and the crown is cared for exactly like a natural tooth.
