CPR, AED, and First-Aid Training in Morgantown
CPR, AED, and First-Aid Training in Morgantown
CPR, AED, and first-aid training in Morgantown gives people in Butler County the skills that matter in the minutes before an ambulance arrives — the minutes that decide most outcomes.
Bluegrass Oral Health Center–Morgantown offers hands-on training for our own clinical team and for local workplaces, schools, churches, and community groups that need certified staff.
Why This Training Matters Here
In rural Kentucky, response times are measured in more than a few minutes. When someone collapses, the person standing nearest is the one who determines what happens next, and effective chest compressions started immediately make an enormous difference to survival.
An AED raises those odds further, and the machines are designed for untrained hands. Training removes the hesitation that keeps a bystander from opening the cabinet at all.

What the Course Covers
- Recognizing cardiac arrest and calling for help immediately
- High-quality chest compressions on adults, children, and infants
- Rescue breathing and the use of a barrier device
- Operating an AED safely and confidently
- Relieving choking in a conscious and unconscious person
- Basic first aid for bleeding, burns, fractures, and allergic reactions
Who Should Attend
Healthcare and dental staff are required to hold current certification, and we keep our own team current as a matter of course. Teachers, coaches, childcare workers, factory and farm crews, church volunteers, and personal trainers benefit just as much.
Parents and grandparents are welcome. Many attendees have no professional requirement at all and simply want to know what to do if it happens at home.
How the Training Works
Courses are hands-on. You practice compressions on manikins with feedback on depth and rate, run AED scenarios, and work through choking response with a partner rather than watching a video.
Class sizes stay small enough that everyone gets real practice time. Instruction follows current resuscitation guidelines, and successful participants receive a certification card.
What to Expect on the Day
Plan on a few hours depending on the course level. Wear comfortable clothing, since you will be kneeling on the floor for compression practice.
No prior experience is expected. Instructors work at the pace of the group, and questions about real situations attendees have faced are the most useful part of most classes.
Why Train With Our Office
Our providers manage medical emergencies as part of clinical practice, including airway management and sedation monitoring, so instruction comes from people who have used these skills rather than only taught them.
As a Kentucky practice with roots in these communities, we would rather Butler County have more trained hands in it. Bluegrass Oral Health can also coordinate group sessions for larger organizations across our locations.
Certification and Renewal
Certification cards issued through these courses are generally valid for two years. We track renewal dates for our own team and are glad to remind organizations we have trained when their staff are approaching expiration.
Groups can arrange a session at their own site when travel is difficult, and we can scale a class to a shift schedule so a workplace does not have to close for an afternoon of training.
Good to Know
Refresher practice matters as much as the initial class. Skills fade within months without repetition, so we encourage teams to run short compression drills between certifications, and we can supply guidance for setting those up at your own site. Keeping an AED accessible, charged, and clearly marked is just as important as the training itself, and we are happy to talk through placement with any Butler County organization that has one or is considering buying its first unit for a workplace or church.
